Events
Mildura hosts a busy calendar of events throughout the year. Head to Mildura in March for Mildura Wentworth Arts Festival, featuring events such as Opera by the Lock on the banks of the Murray River and Music under the Stars at the dramatic Perry Sandhills.
In July Mildura Golf Week tees off, and the Mildura Writers' Festival entices lovers of words to the region. Ouyen hosts the The Great Vanilla Slice Triumph where bakers across Australia compete for the prize of Best Vanilla Slice, and The Tour of the Murray River Cycling road race calls in at towns along the Murray.
In September the Mildura Country Music Festival presents Australia's biggest showcase of independent country music artists. The Mildura Jazz and Wine Festival in November combines the best of Australian modern and traditional jazz with the region's fine wines at wineries and on riverboats, restaurants and along streets throughout the town.
