Cricket, tennis and bowls in Mildura

Get on the greens

The greens used by the Sunraysia Bowls Association are considered among the best in Australia, and the hospitality of the local clubs is second to none. Many bowls carnivals are held by clubs in the region at Mildura, Red Cliffs, Ouyen, Merbein, Coomealla and Wentworth.

The other football

Soccer has a long history in Mildura. Each weekend throughout winter local clubs compete at Soccer Park. Choose a spot on the sideline and cheer on your team. Mildura has played host to the Victorian Country Soccer Championships.

Summer sports

Each year the Mildura Summer of Cricket coincides with the New Year season, kicking off with the popular Willowfest Australian Cricket Club Championships, one of Australia's premier social cricket events, followed by the Mildura Country Cricket Championships. Fit and ready teams of players from around Australia as well as Japan, Papua New Guinea, Cook Islands and Vanuatu will converge on the Mallee pitch.

A spot of tennis

Mildura is a well-known home of tennis. The Mildura Lawn Tennis Club has grass, synthetic and hard courts that have been used for tournaments contested by some of the world's best players and are popular with local and visiting players. The 1998 Davis Cup Tennis tie between Australia and Zimbabwe was played here. Every year players flock to the region to participate in the Mildura Easter Open Tournament. Mildura Lawn Tennis Club is located within walking distance of the city centre, adjacent to the Murray River on Hugh King Drive.

Taste locally brewed beer

While in Mildura don't miss the chance to taste locally brewed beers at the Mildura Brewery Pub. Choose from the four signature naturally brewed beers, and monthly specialty brews, all of which are inspired by and named after local produce, landmarks and stories.
