Cycling

Australia's newest cycling destination
Mildura is gaining a good reputation as Australia's newest cycling destination. It's flat terrain; scenic beauty alongside the Murray River; numerous cycling stops and attractions including galleries, cafes, restaurants, parks and winery options; plus plenty of warm, sunny weather combine as the perfect ingredients for year-round cycling.

Mildura has a variety of excellent accommodation to suit all tastes and budgets; many providers cater for cyclists with lock-up and secure garaging facilities.
If you're cycling in the region, keep an eye out for our Cycle Friendly Business logo.

New Cycling Trails - Coming Soon!
The Victorian government and Mildura Council have announced a significant investment for Mildura's cycling and walking trails. This project will include the construction of an additional 5.35km of cycling and walking trails, which will deliver a continuous link between many popular and scenic locations in Mildura such as Merbein's Blandowski Walk, Chaffey Bend, Apex Park,
Old Mildura Homestead, Mildura Ski Club and Riverside Golf Club. Along with installation of brand new bollards, trail signs and seating, this project will bring many benefits :

• Improvements to the safety, appearance and character of Mildura's riverfront
• Increasing the amount of visitors to sites along this stretch of the Murray River Trail
• Employment opportunities for locals
• Increased usage of the riverfront and promoting active, healthy lifestyles
• Improvement to the liveability and appeal of the Murray River
• Identification and protection of significant cultural areas along the Murray River
• By linking Blandowski Walk, this will encourage greater tourism potential to explore Merbein and surrounding areas.

The Murray River trail has various sections that will be constructed in order for a continuous link to occur between Merbein (West of Mildura) and Nichols Point (East of Mildura). Existing sections of the trail will also be improved and upgraded.
