Old Wentworth Gaol

The Old Wentworth Gaol is the oldest of the Australian designed gaols. It was built during 1879-1881 and operated until 1927. Now welcomes visitors to experience Gaol life from the inside.
A self guided tour of the Gaol allows you to inspect the inside of a historical land mark, designed to serve a vast region. The Wentworth Gaol now stands as a vivid reminder of those harsh and uncompromising days. The Gaolers's residence has an extensive range of souvenirs, giftware and a range of old wares. 
Opening times: Mon - Wed 10am-4pm Sat-Sun 10am -2pm. Closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and Good Friday.
